Honored as Trail of the Year by Bike magazine in 2007, the Seven Summits Trail remains near the top of numerous lists of best biking trails in British Columbia. The trail covers 22 miles with an average grade of nine percent and a maximum grade of 51 percent. It ascends as high as 7,204 feet above sea level and descends down to 2,379 feet. All in all, it offers a physically demanding ride with spectacular payoff.

Open from July until snow falls sometime in October, the Seven Summits Trail, as its name implies, reaches the peaks of seven different summits along Rossland Ridge. It passes through terrain ranging from grassy alpine slopes to old growth forests with extraordinary views of the surrounding areas. Bikers on the Seven Summits Trail should bring all necessary equipment to be self-sufficient, including enough water to last a full day, as the trail lies in a remote region. Additionally, be aware that many parts of the trail have no cell phone coverage.
